DT success!!!

Woop woop etc.  I am well chuffed.  The friendly gals over at Creative Craft Challenges have very kindly agreed to let me and a couple of other ladies join the DT.  I'm so pleased as it's something I've wanted to have a go at for a looong time.

This week's challenge is based on the following sketch and the featured sponsor is Robyn's Fetish digi stamps - all the DT cards feature images from the site.  Other prizes up for grabs are from Just Tracy's and  Doodle Dragon Studios

This is my take on the sketch but it's really interesting to see how different images and colours can make the same layout look quite different - pop on over and see what I mean!

Lili of the Valley

I've recently been buying up a load more Lili Of the Valley images.  I wanted some new ones for Christmas cards but have got sucked in to buying a lot of the day to day ones too.  They made me do it!!!

I really love them - such great images but really good quality stamping too.  I never seem to get a smudge or a missing bit with them.

This one is being entered in to the Lili of the Valley blog challenge - "Aqua, white and glitter".  I'm guessing a lot of the entries will be Christmas related but I thought it sat nicely with this baby stamp too.  Aaaaaah.

The dotted glittery backing card is from DCWV, the aqua border is with card from SU.  Obviously it's a LOTV stamp and the sentiment was cut on the cricut using Gypsy and George fonts and was cut from some glitter paper I had in my stash from my trip earlier this year.

Digi images

I've just been splurging on a few digi images at Kenny K.

I then decided to have a bit of a snoop round t'interweb to see what else is out there and have stumbled across this website:  Torico's Digital Gallery.  Me oh my there are some GLORIOUS digis on there and loads of freebies.  I just HAD to share

Advertising!

A friend recently asked me to make a 40th birthday card for her based on my 'Chocolate Breakfast' design.   I was thrilled on Friday when the recipient then contacted me to ask if I could make something similar for her Niece's 18th!  Really chuffed because it means she liked the card!

So it's prompted me to get cracking on making a proper leaflet / advertising flyer for myself.  I've had some basic ones at Craft Fairs before now but have decided I want to spread the word locally too.  I'll start small and get some dished out at Playgroup first and maybe on the noticeboard at school.

So that's my Sunday afternoon sorted.  Leaflet designing and sorting out the blog!

New card

Well I did make a card for my Champneys friend but forgot to take a photo of it so you'll just have to take my word for it!

I've been feeling a bit under the weather this week so haven't got much making done.   I've also been trying to think of some Christmas designs to make up as samples but my head just isn't having it!

Anyway, here is a card I made for a friend's friend.  "Outdoorsy, likes walking with his black labrador, lives in Wales".

I made it in a 3D tent style so that the hills fall away into the background.  The labrador is Jolly Nation decoupage and the hills are made by cutting up some Kanban backing card.
The badge sentiment was made with the Elegant Edges cartridge on my cricut and the words cut from gold mirri card with the Don Juan font.

I know it would make more sense if I could rotate the photo but at least you get an idea!
Really must sort out my photo software!

Ouch

So today I was lucky enough to be taken to Champneys by my friend.  I wasn't sure if I was looking forward to it or dreading it but I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
We did a Spin class first (I'll be feeling that in my thighs in the morning) and then Fitball which I really enjoyed.  Then we moved onto the hard stuff which was drinking coffee, swimming, being in the jacuzzi and eating lunch.

It was relaxing and peaceful and then I was dropped back into Motherdom with a bump..

I must make her a card to say thank you.....

Christening Cards

How very remiss of me - I've forgotten to upload a couple of christening cards I've made recently!

The Agnes Queenie one (yes) was started off by cutting the name out of a circle using the cricut.  I then hand ruffled some lace and attached this around the edge of the circle.  The edge detail was made with my Martha Stewart punch and I then added some pearls along the borders.

However, by far my favourite of the two is this one for Madelaine Suzanne as it allowed me to get my jewellery making stuff out again (first time in a long time and I'm itching to get started again now!)
I embellished the Nellie Snellen cut out shape with tiger wire, wrapped around at strategic places and fed seed beads and other small beads on as I went round.  The diamante crucifix is held on with a lobster clasp.

Again, the name was cut with the cricut.
