Personalised wedding card

I'm quite pleased with this one :)

Order:  Contemporary wedding card, not too frilly, for Aly and Ben.

The card blank is made from white pearlised cardstock.  I ran the same cardstock through my cuttllebug to emboss the lily (?) design and then matted that with the same cardstock again.  All completely white and pearlised.
I designed the 'Aly & Ben' on my new best friend (the Gypsy) and cut the '&' twice.  This is all cut from white glitter cardstock. This is all then stuck onto the front of the card with the extra '&' matted on top.

The dangly charms on the corner are part of a necklace I bought from a sale in Claire's Accessories.

I will be putting an insert in the card with the wedding date on the bottom right hand corner and think this one deserves a box rather than an envelope.

For once, a card that looks the same in real life as it did in my head!

Life begins at 40

A friend of mine is turning 40 next week but hasn't admitted this to anyone.  Fortunately her mother is on hand to ignore the fact that her daughter doesn't want to make a fuss and has secretly arranged an 'Open House' for the entire day where people will drop in and out as they please.   Apparently she is planning on telling her before we all descend just in case she decides to wear a sloppy old tracksuit that day.

Anyway, this is her card.  It's a revamped version of one I did a few months ago and I think by adding the fluff and bling, it's looking a bit better...

Snip snip sniiiip

I've done it!  I finally used my Gypsy and Expression last night:

I'm sure you'll all agree it's very impressive (!)

What a fab piece of kit though.  It's definitely going to get very well used in this house!  With any luck I'll get another go before the kids are in bed tonight too as we're just back from the charity shop with 10 videos for £1.  Ice Age is on at the moment, I think there are a few more lined up for this afternoon....

Getting Back on Track

Things have definitely been a bit of a whirlwind for the past couple of months.

I've been up to my ears in paperwork (still not finished - never finished), then had a wonderful trip to New York with one of my best friends (and no children) and been selling cards!!  I'm chuffed to pieces with how this year has gone so far.

Since April, I've done three 'events' and at those have sold well over 50 cards and taken plenty of orders.  And all the feedback is good which is even more pleasing.  I have booked another fair in but really need to get making again to build up the stock!

One of the more interesting orders I've had was for a wedding card for a young couple who like caravanning.

I printed the freebie caravan image from the t'interweb onto glitter card.  The couple is a digi stamp - 'Mike and Jessie' from In Style stamps and the sentiment was generated on the PC

Hope you like it!
