Non traditional Christmas colours

Hellooooo

After a short but sweet one week challenge at CCC, we are moving on to a new theme this week; non-traditional Christmas colours ie no reds and greens.

Pop on over to the challenge page to see what the other DT ladies have come up with!!  This challenge will run for THREE weeks to give us a chance to get all Christmassy.

We are sponsored by Crafty Ribbons and Robyn's Fetish

This is my project:

It's an easel card on top of a calendar box.  I also included a necklace in the drawer.  It's the gift my youngest has given her teacher for Christmas.

I was really pleased with the way it turned out and intend to make a few more this week (my kids have broken up already!!)

Enjoy the challenge, enjoy Christmas and get your projects uploaded!!

Merry Chrishmash

At Creative Craft Challenges this week, we have a HUMOROUS challenge underway.  This one is only a week long so get your creations uploaded onto the site as soon as possible!

We are sponsored by Bugaboo so head on over to their site and look at all the lovely digis that they have on offer.

This is my card - terrible photo I'm afraid but the sentiment says MERRY CHRISHMASH

ah ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaaa

?

What in God's name has happened to that last post??

I'm leaving it like that.  Think of the multitude of colours as Christmas decorations

White on White - creative craft challenges

Our challenge over at Creative Craft Challenges this fortnight is white on white Christmas

We are sponsored by the fantastic Stamping Dragon.

There are plenty of DT projects to feast your eyes over and then upload your own creations for a chance to win!

This is my card - apologies for the pants photo.

The background card is embossed through my cuttlebug and the snowman is covered in white glitter.  I've then added some fake snow on the foreground.

Anniversary Challenge

So it's our anniversary week over at Creative Craft Challenges and the challenge for this fortnight is The Number Three.  You will understand how long it took us to come up with this theme!!

We have loads of sponsors this week:
Lili of the Valley
Stamping Dragon
Robyn's Fetish
and Crafty Emblies

WELL worth entering as there are plenty of goodies up for grabs.

The DT have been using images from Stamping Dragon and Robyn's Fetish and also dug out a few LOTV images from our stash

My first effort was rank so I made a second using one of my die cuts from LOTV and put three flowers on it.  See what I did there?

Anyway, show us what you can do.  You have two weeks to enter :)

Oops

Seem to have mislaid a few posts along the way.  I'm sure I've updated this more recently than an entire month ago.  Hmm.  My blogs must be off whizzing in the ether somewhere.  Maybe Felix Baumgartner passed them on his way down?

Sleepover

One of the good things about having a sleepover when you are 39 is that you are officially allowed to have a bit of booze.

I've got a couple of friends coming over tonight and so that none of us has to drive, we're having a girls' night in.  I've bought a copy of Bridesmaids in case we need a film and also have The Outsiders waiting in the wings *sigh*

And these are a couple of little gifts I've made for them!!

They're just a couple of the mini bottles of wine (ASDA 4 for £5!) with a picture taken from the original Wine Buffs CD.  I imported it into Word and added some Wordart accordingly.

BOTTOMS UP!

All about the boys and DT call

Well what a busy end to the Summer holidays.  If you've got your mojos back then head on over to Creative Craft Challenges and have a look at this fortnight's challenge - It's ALL ABOUT THE BOYS (isn't it always!).

There are a few DT projects for your delight and delectation and this time we were using images from our sponsors at Stamping Dragon.

Here are a couple I managed to fling together between polishing school shoes and refilling pencil cases (I had 13 pairs of shoes in various guises to get ready!!)

This is just a straightforward print-colour-stick!

Whereas I got marginally more technical with this one.  I printed the image twice, as large as it would go on A4 card.  I cut what was essentially the front part of the dragon off and scored it so that his tummy opened.  I coloured the rest and there you have it, a dragon with an opening tummy for a slightly different shaped card!

You will notice on the challenge blog that the DT projects are a little thin on the ground this time round.  Not only have we all been flitting about on holidays and whatnot, we have lost three of our ladies in quick succession.  This is sad.
However what is not sad is the fact that we now have a DT call open to try our best to fill the gaps!

Enter the challenge as normal via Mr Linky but if you want to apply for the team, add DT after your name.  We can then all descend on your blog to admire all your beautiful work and vote on our favourites.  The challenge and the DT call ends in two weeks.
There are more details over at CCC

Good luck with the challenge and if you decide to go for a place on the DT call, I wish you luck with that too

You know you're my favourite, don't you ;)

Christmas???

An early start on the Christmas cards.....!

Weddings!

I've just had another order for a wedding card - hurrah - they're among my most favouritest cards to make as there are so many different possibilities to make what will hopefully be something special for the couple concerned.

It reminded me that I haven't blogged two of the cards I made earlier this Summer...

The first was for a lady who was going to a wedding at St Paul's Cathedral!!

It doesn't show up so well here, but the photo of St Paul's is printed on acetate to give it a bit more depth.  The pearls were only fixed at the top to give a bit of movement and there is also a length of crystals dangling over yonder with them.

This is the second wedding card of the Summer - the wedding theme was Glastonbury so I wanted to incorporate tents and wellies.  There are wellies tucked away under the tent flaps on each side.  The image is from The Greetings Farm

Jewellery

Well I'm still neglecting this blog terribly. It's all the children's fault.  I am going to grab a spare moment while they are distracted by the play doh ice cream machine to upload a few more of my jewellery bits.

I've been dismantling a lot of my earlier efforts recently as I'm starting to understand what my preferred techniques are (and also accept my limitations!).  My problem is that I want to get things finished quickly, but more often than not, the nicer, more intricate pieces will inevitably take that bit longer to complete.

Feedback and suggestions always welcomed!!

Just a sentiment

Time for a new challenge at creative craft challenges - this time it's 'Just a Sentiment'

I've been away on hols so have had to use a card from my "back catalogue" !!!   Please make sure any of your entries are new makes.  I'm the only cheat around here.

Summer Fun

This fortnight's challenge at creative craft challenges is Summer Fun!

Sponsors are Bugaboo and Crafty ribbons.  Gotta love those Bugaboo images.....

This one is a shaped stepper card to give a bit of dimension.  The idea is that the back is the sunset (or possibly sunrise depending on your drinking preferences!) and the sentiment reads 'Good Friends, Good Wine, Good Times!!!'

The DT had a lot of summer fun with this one and there are loads of samples over on the blog for inspiration

Colour challenge!

And what else could it be this week in the UK other than RED, WHITE and BLUE (although rainy and overcast would count just as well).

Any projects which contain red, white and blue on them are VERY welcome in the challenge HERE

Sponsors this fortnight are Crafty Individuals and The Stamping Boutique so plenty of lovely prizes up for grabs.

Please make sure you link back to the correct project and we thank you for joining in!

Anyone feeling distressed?

Because if you are there's a corker of a challenge over at Creative Craft Challenges this fortnight.

The theme is DISTRESSING and the sponsor is the wonderful and gorgeous Lili of the Valley who are offering a £10 voucher.  Wonderful at the best of times but they've just released some new verrrry tempting stamps so join in and and who knows, you might get the chance of a bit of a spending spree.

Something funny came over me for this challenge and not only did I make my card way ahead of the DT deadline, I even made TWO.

Please do whizz over and add your newly created projects to Mr Linky on the CCC website.  You've got to be in it to win it!

New Baby Memory Book

This is a project that has been in my head for some time.  We'll ignore the fact that the baby was born on New Year's Day and just focus on the project (Oh the shame!)

I have been meaning to try and do a memory book for yonks so I saved up my cornflake packets and this was the result.  I even got my Bind It All to work!

I was very pleased with the end result and next time will go totally OTT with the embellishments and so on.  Just thought that at four months, they'd waited long enough!

Housekeeping

Right.  This mess of a blog has been neglected for long enough.  I am turning over a new leaf, doing a bit of Spring cleaning and am going to try to get back on top of things.

I'm hoping to have a bit of a purge on my card and jewellery orders over the next few weeks and then my friends, THEN I will sort this all out.

In the meantime, I have been procrastinating and surfing some sites and have found a wonderful digi image site called  MELONHEADZ

I'd pop on over and have a look if I was you x

Tick Tock

Ooooh I've been having terrible trouble lately.  I promise to get everything all back and proper soon.  I just need to publish a test page to see if things are back in order.....

Here's a watch wot I made.

and a wedding card:

If this post works, I will return soon x

We are split into two teams so you only need to make one card a month (but let's face it, we're going to make more) and you can always join in when it's "the other team's" week.

We're a friendly bunch (more often than not) and it's a great way to get the creative juices flowing.

Pop on over and add your blog to the list

The colour BLUE

Another Monday, another new challenge over at Creative Craft Challenges.

This time we are sponsored by Papermakeup Stamps and The Stamping Boutique

The theme this time round it's 'The colour BLUE' and the DT have all used images available from the sponsors.

This is my contribution:

It's a beautiful fairy image, layered up onto blue acetate.  The photo shows neither the depth of the layers NOR the shininess of the acetate but it's quite a good effect in the flesh.  I promise x

What's Your Resolution??

Happeee nooo yeeeeeeeeeeeeeear

I have been AWOL.  Missing in action if you will.  My pokey tool has been laying idle.  But it's a new year and new ounce of gusto has entered my soul.  If only I had a few extra hours a day to go with it!  I've been finishing off a few orders and am now trying to regain some semblance of sanity as the kids are back at school and playgroup

Anyway, the theme this time over at Creative Craft Challenges is indeed 'What's Your Resolution?'

The DT have all used Bugaboo images in their designs and I have absolutely loved looking through the choice on their website.  My contribution is as follows.....

Elephants never forget and I will try not to forget to get my DT cards in on time and posted on my blog!

Spend less on Craft Stash (ha haaa - no-one said  they had to be realistic resolutions)
The sponsors for this challenge are

so please pop on over and enter the challenge - the more the merrier!
